#### Education

University of Virginia - B.A, Biology , Lincoln Memorial University - DVM, Veterinary Medicine#### Experience

My main interests in academia are mathematics and biology. I tutor students in these areas, and as a student myself, I also use them in my coursework on a regular basis. I received a B.A. in Biology from UV, and I am now working toward my doctorate in veterinary medicine. While my future will focus on animals, right now, my focus is on people. I was lucky to have a tutor in high school who honed my study habits so that I began to perform well on tests. These new study habits continued into college and now in graduate school. Because I have had struggles of my own, I know how hard it can be for students to learn good study habits, and I hope to transfer this knowledge now that I work as a tutor. While an undergraduate, I worked in my university's department of biology for three years, answering questions about procedures and concepts around biology, particularly dissection. Not only can I learn on my own, but I also learned a lot about my subject by teaching it to others. Now, I use biological science and math all the time in veterinary school, so I can even show my students the practical application of these concepts.#### Hobbies
